What rocket launch statuses actually mean.
Launch dates change often. These labels tell you whether a time is provisional, an attempt is still active, or the mission has reached an outcome.
Common schedule and mission states
Use the status together with the target time and the provider’s latest source update.
TBD — To Be Determined
A reliable target has not been set. Any placeholder date should be treated as provisional until the provider publishes a firmer window.
TBC — To Be Confirmed
A date or time is being used for planning but still needs confirmation. Expect more movement than with a firm launch window.
Go for Launch
Teams have cleared the mission to continue toward the current attempt. Weather or technical conditions can still cause a late hold or scrub.
Hold
The countdown has paused. Some holds are planned; others give teams time to resolve weather, range, or technical constraints.
Scrubbed
The current launch attempt has been called off. The mission remains active and normally receives a new target after teams reassess.
In Flight
The vehicle has launched and the mission is underway. Milestones may include stage separation, orbital insertion, docking, or payload deployment.
Success or Failure
A terminal status records the reported mission outcome. Spacian removes terminal missions from the future schedule while keeping their detail page available.
