How to watch a rocket launch live

Find mission coverage, read the launch target correctly, and prepare for a delay without losing track of the mission.

Start with the mission

Open the mission you want to watch from the launch schedule. Its coverage section lists viewing links supplied by the mission data provider. Check the destination and publisher before you open a stream. NASA also maintains a live-coverage page for its events.

Coverage time and launch time are different

A broadcast may start before the target, begin late, or remain unavailable. Spacian labels a link “Watch live coverage” only when its data marks the webcast live. An available video link alone does not mean a stream is running.

Keep the schedule beside the stream

Check the target, timezone and status together. A countdown reaching zero is not proof of liftoff. If the target passes without a confirmed outcome, return to the mission for updated information.

Save your place

Save the mission on this browser to find it again, or use its calendar action when a date is available. Browser saves do not send alerts. Spacian on iPhone offers launch reminders and schedule-change alerts; one active mission is free.
